How To Make Safe Simple Yet Complex Passwords

What Is A Password….

A Password Is A Secret Word Or String Of Characters That Is Used For Authentication, To Prove Identity Or Gain Access To A Resource (Example: An Access Code Is A Type Of Password). The Password Should Be Kept Secret From Those Not Allowed Access.

About Passwords
Password Authentication Has Become Part Of Our Daily Lives.
To Maintain Security, Create A Strong And Secure Password.
Choosing A Strong Password Is Not Hard And Is Something Everyone Can Do.

Creating A Strong Password Means Using Between Six And Fifteen Characters, With A Mix Of Upper & Lowercase Characters, Numbers, And Symbols.

Strong Passwords, That You Create, Should Be An Easy To Remember And Hard For Others To Guess.

Password Do's & Donot's

Password Do's:
  • Always Memorize Your Password.
  • Always Use A Password With Mixed Upper And Lower Case Alphabets.
  • Always Use A Password With Non-Alphabetic Characters (Digits, Punctuation, And Numbers), Avoid Having The Number Near The End Of The Word, Embed It Somewhere In The Middle.
  • Always Use A Password With A Combination Of Both Mixed-Case And Non-Alphabetic Characters.
  • Always Use A Password That Is Easy Enough To Remember, So That You Never Have To Write It Down.
  • Always Use A Password That You Can Type Quickly, Without Looking At The Keyboard. This Makes It Harder For Your Password To Be Determined By Someone Looking Over Your Shoulder.

Password Don’t:
  • Never Write Down Your Password.
  • Never Use Passwords With Less Than Six Characters.
  • Never Use Your Name (First, Middle, Or Last In Any Form).
  • Never Use Your Login Name.
  • Never Use Anyone's Name.
  • Never Use Words That Can Be Found In Any Us Or Foreign Language Dictionary, Spelling Lists, Or Other Word Lists.
  • Never Use Names Of Places/Locations.
  • Never Use Any Names Of Your Family Members, Friends, Or Pets.
  • Never Use Other Information About Yourself (Phone/Extension Number, Room Number).
  • Never Use Anyone's Birthdate.
  • Never Use Simple Patterns Of Letters On The Keyboard, Like "Qwerty" Or "Asdfgh"
  • Never Use All The Same Letters.
  • Never Use Passwords With Anything Listed Above Backwards.

So What Are Safe Passwords…

Safe Passwords Are Passwords Are Basically Any Passwords Which We Remember Easily But Everyone Else Cannot Even Guess.

The Best Passwords Are That Are Not At All Connected To The User, His Profession, Religion Or Location.

So How Do We Form Such Passwords.

Following Are The Some Of The Methods That I Have Derived Through My Years Of Experience Some I Used To Follow & Some I Follow Even Now.

Method  1:

Illusion Method

In This Method We Just Swap Some Of The Key Letters Of The Word With Either Numbers Or Special Characters To Illusion A Word..

For Eg:
If I Want My Password As “APPLE “

I Will Write It As

@pple,
@pp!e
@pp1e
@pp!E
@pp1E
@99Le
@99!e
@99le
A99lE
A99!E
A99Le
A99!e
A991e
A99Le
app1e
a99LE
ap913
app!3
a99L3
app!e
a99!3

This Are Some Of The Combinations That I Can Think Of But There Are More Than That It Depends On Your Imagination & How Well You Can Substitute The Characters.

As You Can See The 5 Letter Word Create More Than 15 Different Combinations So If We Add More Length To Our Password The More Different Combinations We Will Have.

This Method Is All About Illusion & Imagination …..

You Can Substitute

S - $ , H - #, l -1, I - ! , o – 0, A – 4….. Etc

So Just Imagine & Illusion…

Method 2

Phrase Method

By Taking A Combination Of Letters And Numbers, A Phrase Can Be Spelled Out Without Using Complete Words. You Can Use This Method To Create Passwords, Too.

Eg:
Music is for me Can Be Written As - MusikS4me

Rocketship Can Be Written As - rokiT7shiP
Day after today Can Be Written As - dayFter2day

Tunafish Can Be Written As - toona&Fish2

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water Can Be Written As - J&Jwuth2fapow

So While Selecting Any Good Password Think Of Any Random Phrase And Make You Own Secure Phrase Method Password.

Method 3:

Key Skip Method:

In This Method We Use The Keyboard As An Coder & Keeping

Central Keys i.e. ASDFGHJKL As Fix Keys

We Replace Upper Keys By Numbers

i.e. QWERTYUIOP With 1234567890

& We Replace Lower Keys

i.e. ZXCVBNM With Special Characters On Number Keys 1 -7 i.e. !@#$%^&

By Using This Method We Will Try Some Examples

For Example:

Hello Becomes h3ll9

India Becomes i^d8a

Pineapple Becomes 08^3a00l3

Etc…..

Method 4:

This Method Is The Best Method When You Have To Add Only Numerical Password & This Is My Favorite Invention I Found Few Years Ago This Method Needs A Simple Non Qwerty Keyboard Mobile.
